We realized several years ago that there has to be a better approach to train and empower our own managers since we were spending far too much time in the field going over the same repetitious content with managers that could be done more effectively with multiple of them at once. However, the expense of bringing them all together in one central location was prohibitively expensive, and it quickly became clear that the proper method to teach managers is to use current technology to avoid the massive cost in time and money of a face-to-face training session. Furthermore, face-to-face training is frequently interrupted by mobile phone calls and other distractions, and you want to go home or somewhere else the whole time you are in training, so there is little enthusiasm and many crucial aspects are overlooked or forgotten. So, roughly two years ago, we began developing a new management course for our own use. We currently utilize this to teach managers in our few hundred parks, and we firmly feel it is the finest in the industry. This is how it works:
The training is divided into 17 modules, each focused on a different area of their profession, for a total of around 8 hours of teaching.
It is provided in the form of a webinar from their computer screen, and they can start and stop it as needed.
