Micheal Shafer, Ph.D., Professor Seminars and items that are related: 1Micheal Shafer, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who specializes in dementia diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Shafer teaches in the departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Radiology at Michigan State University School of Medicine.
Dr. Shafer gives national presentations on a number of clinical and scientific topics, and she has trained physicians on pharmaceutical use and mechanisms of action, notably for those used to treat Alzheimer’s disease. His principal research/clinical interests are the evaluation of neuropsychological illnesses (e.g., stroke, TBI, Alzheimer’s) and the investigation of localized brain functions. Dr. Shafer worked as a hospital counselor and researcher at the University of Maryland Medical School before getting his Ph.D.
Dr. Shafer holds an M.A. in applied psychology from the University of Baltimore and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a focus on neuropsychology from the University of North Texas.
