Elegant and Simple Trance Creation
In over 40 years of professional hypnotherapy, it bothers me when I hear someone say, “A mild hypnotic trance is all that’s needed to effect change!” . This is something I’ve heard at least a couple hundred times. Yes, if you are a very experienced hypnotist, you can solve all types of difficulties with nothing more than a light hypnotic trance…
Why do so many individuals extol the virtues of a light trance? Because that’s all they can instill in their subjects! What happens when inexperienced hypnotists come across someone they can’t hypnotize? They place the blame on the issue. They claim the subject is “resistant” or “unhypnotizable”.
It’s ironic that my kids and I never seem to encounter any of these “poor subjects”…
The “Working State” of Hypnosis is Deep Trance.
Those of us in the know are well aware that deep trance, or the somnambulistic state, is the desired state for your subject. This is due to the fact that deep trance is the “working state” of hypnosis, when the true changework takes place. You can accomplish whatever you can do in a light trance, but you can also induce amnesia, temporal distortion, post-hypnotic suggestion, and a variety of other deep trance phenomena. As anyone who has seen me workout can tell, this is the state I frequently work with.
Subjects are bored into trance by poorly trained hypnotists!
The difficulty is that the great majority of hypnotists in today’s society have had inadequate training, if any at all. They read scripts to their subjects or employ old and ineffectual tactics. The gradual relaxation induction is an example of this, in which the hypnotist spends so much time inducing hypnosis by continuously persuading the patient to relax that he effectively bores the subject into trance – which is generally light.
The Solution is this Hypnotic Power Inductions Program!
As a result, I developed Hypnotic Power Inductions. This training is designed for all experienced hypnotists, whether stage, street, casual, or therapists; anybody who wishes to improve their trance induction skills. During my Architecture of Hypnosis seminar at St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto, in 2012, the program was professionally videotaped. Watch me work with 6 different unprepared subjects using my Neo-Ericksonian technique, teaching these strong inductions to a class of therapists and professional hypnotists in this online video program.
