Mystery is, of course, the most well-known name in pickup, and for good reason. Mystery pioneered the systematic method to game, teaching the basics in “The Venusian Arts Handbook,” an ebook that was eventually packed and edited into “The Mystery Method,” one of the first books on pickup to be published by a major publisher. Mystery rose to prominence after appearing as a prominent character in Style’s memoir “The Game” and on the VH-1 program “The Pickup Artist.”

After several squabbles with past business partners, Mystery dropped the “Mystery Method” moniker and launched a new venture named Venusian Arts. Mystery set about rethinking what a learner needed to gain a mastery of pickup using Lovedrop and Matador, and the results, well, they speak for themselves.

The ebook “Revelation” serves as the foundation of Mystery’s new enterprise. To put it bluntly, this is the most thorough book on pickup that you will discover. It covers pickup theory and technique in depth and sophistication. This ebook, mostly authored by Lovedrop – an exceptional writer and lecturer – offers a wealth of good content, with significant additions from Mystery and Matador.

This book is complex and nuanced, and it takes some effort to deal with. It is an excellent pick for inexperienced players since it is highly difficult and requires you to work outside of your comfort zone. If you have some exposure to pick up and prefer studying from books (rather than video and audio tracks), this booklet is hard to beat. It’s highly extensive, with a great balance of academic and practical instruction.

There’s also a movie and music package to go with it. The audio is outstanding, and it was previously published with a separate visual package. It’s largely taught by Lovedrop, who is an insightful and fascinating instructor who speaks passionately about his topic without losing clarity and precision, and the video features both Mystery and Matador. This is, once again, really excellent material with a fair balance of practical and theoretical components. (If I were to attend an intense session with any master pickup artist, Lovedrop and Style would be at the top of my list.)

Venusian Arts also provides traditional bootcamps. If you’ve read The Game, you know how powerful these encounters can be. Almost all of the people who started the main pickup schools (Love Systems, Real Social Dynamics, Styelife, and so on) began by attending a bootcamp similar to those given by Venusian Arts. There are several success tales.

It makes a lot of sense to attend a Venusian Arts lesson if you were initially introduced to the seduction scene through “The Game” or “The Pick-Up Artist” reality shows. This is the closest you’ll come to taking those initial classes with Mystery himself. (Pricing information is slightly concealed on the website, although bootcamps appear to be around the industry standard of $3000.)

Mystery and his new business partners have returned to the basics in response to feedback from their students and apprentices, generating some of the greatest content available for pickup. Some of it is expensive, but if you’re ready to work and want a decent blend of theoretical and practical instruction, Venusian Arts is hard to beat.

Furthermore, you will be taught from the original master pickup artist. What is there not to like?
