Swift is an Apple multi-paradigm programming language designed for usage with iOS and OS X. Swift was created to replace Objective C, and the first mobile app appeared in June 2014 at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Despite its objective of replacing Objective C, Swift can coexist with the older Objective C language while utilizing the Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks.
