This course will cover how to ensure that the Court has a clear knowledge of your client’s concerns as well as how to present the evidence completely and convincingly. You should offer the ALJ a brief pitch of no more than 3 minutes, then make a verbal visual tale demonstrating that your client is genuine, human, and suffering, and that any flaws are easily remedied.
Patrick O’Neal received his B.S. from McNeese State University in 1986 and his J.D. from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Herbert Law Center in 1991. In 1991, he was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar, and in 1994, he was admitted to the New Mexico Bar (inactive). After working as a Judicial Clerk for the Hon. U. Gene Thibodeaux on the Louisiana Court of Appeal, Third Circuit, he became a Senior Trial Prosecutor in the Albuquerque District Attorney’s Office’s Crimes Against Children Unit. He then went into civil litigation, handling hundreds of personal injury and wrongful death asbestos claims. He has solely practiced Social Security Disability law for the past seven years. He presently manages McDonald Legal Firm’s disability law practice. Mr. O’Neal and his wife live in Fort Worth, Texas.

Patrick Ray is a Senior Attorney at McDonald Law Firm and the firm’s Birmingham office manager. The main office of the business is in Fort Worth. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida and a post-baccalaureate degree from the University of Florida. In 1993, Mr. Ray received his J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. He was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board while in law school. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1994 and thereafter to all federal districts in Alabama. He was admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas in 2014. Mr. Ray has handled numerous civil litigation issues on behalf of plaintiffs in all Alabama state and federal courts, including over 50 personal injury jury trials. He concentrates his practice on representing applicants in Social Security Disability cases, through reconsideration and hearing to federal district court. Mr. Ray primarily represents clients in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. He has previously spoken at the National Business Institute and the NOSSCR on “The Anatomy of Top Disability Claims.” Mr. Ray has been married to his wife, Carla Carden Ray, an attorney, since 1992. Mr. Ray lives in Birmingham with his wife, three children, and their Boston terrier, Jack. They are involved with Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
