In volume one of this new DVD series, instructor Oleg Taktarov wants to share his unique Sambo technique, a universal Sambo style meant for any fighting situation. He demonstrates the techniques he used during his fights, but also techniques specific to self-defense, to police force work, etc. It starts with a warm-up sequence, and then goes on with throws, explanations of immobilizations & locks, ankle-leg-arm-wrist lock techniques, chokes, triangle techniques, within the guard combinations, standing-ground with immobilizations, and finally ground defense with immobilization release.
Instructor Oleg Taktarov, also known as the Russian Bear, is a Sambo technique virtuoso, giving the impression of creating something in each new fight. He was born in Russia, and came to the USA with the dream of becoming an actor. His discovery was due to the quality of his fighting and today, besides his competition work, he can also be seen on the silver screen, in films such as ”15 Minutes” with Robert De Niro, ”Benjamin Gates” with Nicolas Cage, ”Rollerball”, ”Bad Boys II” and many more. Herve Gheldman, Oleg’s partner in this DVD, is also an international expert in the art of Sambo.
