Pamela Malkoff Hayes, LMFT, ATR-BC, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California as well as an American Art Therapy Association Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (AATA). Her areas of expertise include alcohol and drug addiction, marital and parenting issues, depression and anxiety, grieving, LGBTQ, gender identity, and sexuality. She is also a qualified Hypnotherapist, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotional Freedom Techniques practitioner, as well as a court-certified Sexual Abuse Evaluator (EFT).
She has worked in schools, hospitals, prisons, foster and residential care, and private practice during the course of her 25-year career. She is a well-known lecturer and educator who has given lectures around the United States. She has taught art therapy classes at Philips Graduate University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has published many books and developed Art Therapy DVDs. She is the host of the video podcast “3 Minute Art Therapy” and was recently featured as the expert Art Therapist on “The Science of Happiness/SoulPancake.”
Ms. Hayes resides in Los Angeles, where she maintains a private practice and offers Art Therapy groups to a variety of organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York, NY, and Otis/Parsons in Los Angeles, CA, as well as a Graduate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from The Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA.
