Shinyu Gushi, 9th Dan, began studying Pangai Noon Uechi karate in the early 1950s with instructors Saburo Uehara, Seiyu Shinjo, and Kanei Uechi, the founder’s son.
He still teaches individuals or small groups of pupils in private, believing that true karate should not be affected by the urge to recruit students or other economic factors.
His art is indisputably old, with origins dating back to 19th century China and beyond.
Pangai Noon Uechi is a martial art in the traditional sense.
It is demonstrated here in its original, pure form by this highly recognized master, and it is powerful, effective, and free of any trace of sporting attempt.
