Not every arrangement qualifies as a Market Maker Setup. To correctly recognize a true genuine Market Maker configuration, you must first grasp and comprehend the CONTEXT of the settings. Always be aware of the general price directional bias. ONLY trade in the general trend’s direction. Not every up candle that is traded down through or every down candle that is traded up through is a Sponsor candle. Never seek a setup. Always prioritize liquidity. Determine the longer-term liquidity. Understand that the marker moves with INTENTION, and that the price is not arbitrary. Technicals are to the left of the current price, fundamentals are to the right of the price, and Market Makers Technicals are merely extra confirmations and confluence for our setups.
Price is free to do anything it wants. Never risk more than 1% of your account on a single trade. Always employ suitable risk-to-reward ratios, at a minimum of 1:2. To comprehend the principles covered in these notes, you must first understand where retail traders trade as well as the key patterns and levels at which retail traders are trained to trade. Before you can complete the technical settings, you must first understand when to join the market and what the Market Makers will do.
All prices prior to the present price are technical, and Market Makers control all current and future prices. Most retail traders fail because they do not grasp how price action works, or simply do not comprehend the practicalities of price movement. Any trader can learn or be taught to identify significant price points and mark up a chart with support and resistance levels and other technicals, but few actually grasp how Market Makers use these critical price points.
Before we get into studying sponsor candles and institutional candles (which I utilize on a regular basis on my setups), there are a few ground principles to follow while trading these ideas.
