Goals of the Session:
To comprehend the physiology necessary to complete a two-hour marathon.
To comprehend the mathematics, mechanics, and physics of running, as well as how we may influence these variables
Understanding how to apply what we’ve learnt to athletes in medical practice
The American Osteopathic Association has approved the Maine Osteopathic Association to offer doctors with osteopathic continuing medical education.
The Maine Osteopathic Association has designated this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credit and will submit CME and specialty credits based on the level of the physician’s involvement in this activity.
Dr. Skiba is the director of sports medicine for Advocate Aurora Health, one of the nation’s largest health-care systems. In addition to his medical responsibilities, he serves as a coach and adviser to some of the world’s fastest endurance athletes, including Olympians and world champions. Dr. Skiba will speak about his work with the Nike 2 hour marathon project, which was the subject of the award-winning documentary Breaking 2 at the Cannes Film Festival.
