Children are exposed to situations such as abuse, neglect, racial trauma, mass shootings, health pandemics, and natural catastrophes while growing up.
Children who lack emotional literacy, emotional awareness, and coping abilities risk being unable to effectively articulate their ideas, feelings, and needs. As a result, their traumatic experiences have a bigger influence on their internal system, causing sections to store pain, shame, fear, and trauma.
Consider having the ability to mitigate the effects of a child’s traumatic experiences by raising emotional awareness and lowering reactionary actions.
Children will now have the opportunity to learn the various parts that make them who they are, express the feelings and beliefs of their parts, and gain knowledge that others have parts as well – in a creative way – thanks to the combination of the non-phase treatment approach of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Play Therapy.
Carmen will teach us how to use the processes of the Internal Family Systems to enable communication, create emotional wellbeing, improve social connections, and boost personal strengths.
