What exactly is M formula language?
Data transformation and data cleansing are two of the most important and difficult processes in any data analytics effort. To extract relevant insights, we must first prepare the data for analysis.
In the world of power bi, a Power query functions similarly to an ETL for the data warehouse. The power query generates M code, a formula language, whenever we perform any operation on the data. The M formula language has a diverse range of functions for data transformation and cleaning.
Why should you study M formula language?
We have a graphical user interface in power bi that we use to perform various operations on the data. Unfortunately, this interface is still basic. A graphical user interface cannot be used to perform all data-related operations on it.
Microsoft releases new versions of Power BI almost every month, with new graphical tools in the Power BI ribbon. However, we must continue to rely on the power query graphical user interface’s unique features.
We may overcome this reliance by mastering the Power Query M programming language. M language is far more powerful than Power query because we will have complete control over the underlying auto-generated code.
You will learn all of the building blocks of the Power query M language in this course so that you can master it on your own.
This course will show you how to use the M language to implement any available data transformation function.
New upcoming features and functions will be added to this course on a regular basis.
