Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and doctors have told me that they were hesitant to order respiratory drugs because they couldn’t keep up with pharmacology best practices and the complexity of managing numerous illnesses or symptoms at once. It’s easy to become overwhelmed. I realize that we want to assist our patients attain the greatest possible outcomes. We also don’t want to contribute to negative patient outcomes.
I’ve helped numerous healthcare practitioners overcome their prescriptive and administrative worries. One nurse in particular stood out in my mind. She was terrified. And flatly refused to provide a prescription medicine to a patient on our unit. We both went together and supplied the medication that the patient required. She became a very recognized nurse practitioner with our institution’s Pulmonary Division after a “thank you” and many years later. She never gave up and continued to ask questions. She was eager to learn, and her eagerness to study catapulted her to prominence in her field.
I will give real-world case studies to highlight critical themes as we move through this crucial subject, whether you operate in an inpatient or outpatient setting. I will go over evaluation findings and test data with you in order to advise expert level pharmacological recommendations. This thorough respiratory drug update will provide you with all of the information, data, and best practice recommendations you need to feel confident in your prescribing decisions.
