The BJJ Manifesto In our new book BJJ Manifesto, Rob and I detail the exact position-specific methods that drive your opponent to make mistakes and effectively defeat themselves. And, please understand, THIS IS NOT A TECHNIQUES BOOK! Almost every day, new BJJ books and videos are released. Some may be purchased for as low as $10 and as much as $300. I know. I bought them all. Many of these methods are highly complicated. They were created by black belts who trained three times every day, seven days a week. In experience and study, I’ve realized that in order to employ these sophisticated BJJ techniques correctly, you must either…a) hire a black belt for private training every single day…or…b) quit your job, disregard your friends and family, and basically live at the gym and train all day long. That’s insane to most folks! I demonstrate you simple and obvious position specific methods in BJJ Manifesto… Force your opponent to make fight-ending mistakes. There are no crazy techniques that require gumby-like flexibility to pull off…no moves that require Brock Lesnar-like strength to finish…you don’t have to be a black belt to use this (in fact, it’s probably better if you’re still a purple, blue, or white belt)…and it works with or without the gi. This isn’t about discovering anything new. It’s all about making your existing moves more effective…so you can complete more fights with less effort. Consider how awesome it would be to have a system like this that could compel your opponent to give you an easy as pie submission whenever you wanted! You’d never be in a superior position again and be unable to finish your opponent. (Plus, knowing these secrets will help you get out of sticky situations.) However, there is a lot more in BJJ Manifesto. You’ll also learn: Have you just mounted your opponent? DON’T GO FOR THE KILL YET! Why assaulting from a horseback nearly always results in a bucked-off. Pg 2: How Judo, Wrestling, and Sambo vary from BJJ…and…how success in other grappling sports can lead to FAILURE in BJJ. Pg 4 The “Green Light” approach warns you when your opponent is vulnerable to your submissions. When I was a purple belt, I beat two black belts in competition, and it’s the secret to catching men with years more experience than you (even if you have just “mediocre” submission skills) Pg 5 The single most crucial method for dealing with opponents that rely solely on athleticism (great against wrestlers and naturally gifted opponents). Pg 7: How to choke out your opponent using only shoulder pressure! Pg 9 When it comes to submissions DESTROYS your submission game! The “make him tap himself” method’s secrets. Pg 10 The single most common error that rookie grapplers make. It’s why their approaches “don’t work” even after they’ve practiced them. The good news is that it is a simple repair. I’ll teach you precisely how to use the “P2MS” algorithm to…Triple Your Finishing Percentage…almost instantly! In fact, this simple method will identify submissions that have been there all along but have been invisible to you. Furthermore, it demonstrates how to end those annoying opponents who refuse to fight and just ball up in 100 percent defensive mode…as well as how to capture even the most evasive of escape artists. You’ll also learn the “Defense Repetition Trick” secrets! This deceptive tactic, based on short-circuiting the brain’s decision-making process, 1) creates a false sense of security in your opponent…2) deceives them into believing you’re dead meat, while you…3) secretly baits them into giving you an easy finish (Must know strategy for grapplers who use stealth and smarts instead of speed and strength). Pg 14 Boxers practice their skills on the heavy bag for hours. How to use the “Grappler’s Heavy Bag” to become a world-class grappler rather than a mediocre black belt. Pg 16 How to know for certain that you’re progressing as quickly as humanly feasible. Pg 18 When you train in class, it RUINS your chances of winning contests. The distinction between a competition and a training method. Pg 19For a moment, consider strategy. There are three types of strategy: terrible strategy, decent strategy, and GREAT strategy. And, at the highest levels of competition, it is not the strongest and fastest competitor with the most petrol in his tank who triumphs. It’s the man with the more effective plan. How to Defeat Guys Who Are “Technically” Superior to You I don’t care if you know hundreds of moves…if you don’t know how to set up your opponents to finish themselves, you’ll never be able to strike those moves with any regularity or against any men at the upper levels. That’s why I go into depth in BJJ Manifesto about what you need to do in each of the primary positions to dominate, influence, and drive your opponents to make mistakes that cause them to lose. A taster: “The Three Rules of Guard Success”! Secrets for passing, bottom sweeps, and submissions that work on the mat and in the cage. Pg 21 The single most significant line concerning bottom guard you will ever read! Never again be perplexed about what to do in a butterfly, spider, 50/50, or any other open or closed guard! Pg 24 explains why having at least one foot on your opponent’s hips at all times is essential for open guard submissions and sweeps (plus a simple drill that quickly develops your “foot on hip” open guard). Pg 25: Never lie on your opponent’s CHEST in side mount (you’ll get bucked off or pushed back into guard). Furthermore, the two regions of maximal side mount control and which one leads to a plethora of simple finishes. Pg28 You think passing half guard implies moving your leg out from between theirs? Wrong! Why this basic error generally results in you being dragged back into guard or swept…and…the easy position modification that will have him virtually begging you to pass his half guard. Pg 28: Why do you WANT to be assaulted while riding? (and why being aggressive in bottom mount will almost always get you submitted.) Page 30 Caution! When you’re locked in side-mount, this is the ONLY safe position for your arms! Ignore this single warning, and you’ll be stuck at the bottom for the rest of your life. Pg 32 And a whole lot more. Why a pure BJJ half guard will get you killed in MMA…the #1 guideline for half guard so you don’t get passed or pounded in the face…and the #1 strategy for escaping from back control!
