DescriptionThe COVID-19 pandemic is causing numerous rapid changes that cause tension, worry, panic, dread, and feelings of instability. Many of us and our clients are currently dealing with concerns about becoming ill and how to manage or obtain care, being alone or isolated, dealing with increased stress from family members we may be living with, concerns about getting food/health or daily living supplies, and a variety of other issues. It is critical that we give tools to ourselves and our clients to manage the emotional reactivity that we may be experiencing by establishing and practicing daily resilient, healthy, soothing, and grounding activities to cope.
Mindfulness, time in nature, and connecting with healthy resources have all been demonstrated to strengthen and improve our immune system as well as offer health to our mental well-being, soothing the nervous system and assisting in experiences of more ease, relaxation, and grounding.
In this recording, I’ll talk about how to be in and connect with nature, how to practice mindfulness meditation in nature, how to develop intentions and mindfulness practices to support gratitude, kindness, and interconnection, and how to engage in media/technology to support healthy ways of information, connection, and support. I will give strategies to meet and be in our new cultural environment of COVID-19 with more ease, peace, health, and general well-being through different practices and recommendations for assistance.Handouts
