Sam Bennett is a retail producer, presenter, and stakeholder of Columbia, Missouri-based Harrison Agency, Inc. He began his insurance profession in 1987 and has always worked as an Independent Insurance Agent. He has spent his whole career working with individuals, families, and small enterprises. He has worked in the personal lines, commercial lines, agriculture, and life and health sectors in this role. Sam has grown to understand and respect the crucial ways an insurance professional must interact with markets and clients in today’s insurance environment as a consequence of dealing with many different types of customers, carriers, and coverage needs.
In 1996, Sam earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) accreditation. He has been teaching for the National Alliance in their CISR program since 2000, presenting in their CIC program since 2004, and became a National Faculty Member of the Society of CIC in 2009. Sam is also a National Faculty Member in the AIMS Society’s Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) program and an IRMI Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) program speaker. Over the last two decades, he has been relied upon to deliver insurance education at conferences and symposiums around the country, and he has served as an expert consultant to many law firms.
CIC, CPI Angelynn Heavener
Angie Heavener started her insurance career in 1971, when she joined her family’s firm. She had a variety of jobs at the firm, including CSR, producer, and finally agency owner. She sold her agency in 1993 to join the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. She began as an assistant vice president of Marketing/Instructor and quickly rose to the position of vice president of Education. She is the founder and CEO of Insurance Training Plus, Inc., a professional training and consulting organization specializing in education and agency operations that she founded in 2002.
Angie was the IIAI and PIIAI education chairwoman, as well as a member of the IIABA education committee. In addition, she has served on various additional state and national bodies. Angie was named Young Agent of the Year in 1991, and she earned her Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Professional Insurance Agent designations in 1999.
Angie is a regular speaker at state conventions and conducts several property and casualty education courses around the country. Angie also teaches classes in sales, service, and operations. She is a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors’ national faculty.
Angie is an approved auditor for a number of E&O carriers and does internal E&O audits on agencies around the country. She also advises agencies on the development of protocols, workflows, and sales centers. Angie co-wrote a book on Errors and Omissions audits and contributes to state insurance association journals.
