Sara M. Coffey, DO is a Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSUCHS). Dr. Coffey did her residency in adult psychiatry at the University of Chicago and her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Harvard Medical School’s Cambridge Health Alliance. During her adult psychiatry residency, Dr. Coffey chaired the American Medical Association’s Resident’s Committee’s Public Health Committee. During her psychiatric studies, she worked as a public psychiatry fellow for the American Psychiatric Association for two years. Dr. Coffey has vast experience working in both the public and private education systems.
Tulsa Area Public Schools and Cambridge, Massachusetts Dr. Coffey is a well-known regional lecturer on trauma in the classroom and integrated care. Dr. Coffey is presently employed by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health to offer technical help in the development of Oklahoma Health Homes. Dr. Coffey is an expert in integrated care models and best practices for integration and collaboration between primary care and mental health in this field. She has offered on-site advice to the majority of Oklahoma’s health homes through her collaboration with the Department of Mental Health, and she has lectured on both collaborative care models in pediatrics and preventative care in children. Dr. Coffey consults with the Department of Human Services Child Welfare and is a Co-Lead on OSUCHS’s Pediatric Behavioral and Emotional Health ECHO. Dr. Coffey is also the Behavioral Health Medical Director for the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Health Access Network.
