I’ve spent the last week reading through Scott Sonnon’s new Primal Stress program. My objective was to gather enough information and insight to provide you with a thorough product evaluation that would assist you in determining whether or not this program is a suitable fit for you, your goals, and circumstances.
I immediately learned that Primal Stress is significantly more comprehensive than I had anticipated, and contains far more instructive information than any of Sonnon’s prior offerings. It’s not just huge in scope (nearly 18 hours of video footage and 500 pages of reading material), but it’s also highly deep. Naturally, one week is insufficient time to go through everything. As a result, this will be a quick analysis based on my initial thoughts rather than a detailed product evaluation.
So, unlike in my prior product evaluations, I’m not going to offer you point-by-point pros and cons today. The reason for this is that this application is quite similar to Sonnon’s previous product releases – only better – and I’d be rehashing comments I’ve made before.
First and foremost, I’ve been looking forward to the release of this program since Scott informed me about it privately last year. I could tell he was looking forward to this program because it would be different from his previous employment.
I’ve examined nearly all of Sonnon’s programs published since 2006. (and a handful prior to that). Having said that, I’ll be honest and state that I believe this is Scott Sonnon’s greatest work to date – by far. And it’s not only because of the information’s quality or how effectively it’s presented. It’s because this application contains a feature called heart. When you first read the handbook, it’s clear that Scott has poured his heart into it, and he offers so much of himself in this distillation of his work.
It’s difficult for me to express how this has affected the product as a whole, but I believe anyone who has used this program will understand precisely what I mean. To put it simply, this is not another fitness regimen. Scott’s work on Primal Stress is nothing short of groundbreaking. This is a compilation of art that actually matters and is desperately required in our day.

Primal Stress is a true progression of training regimens, as has been the case with the majority of Sonnon’s releases – each one a bit better and more developed than the last. So, if you’re acquainted with any of Sonnon’s other programs, particularly his more recent TACFIT programs, you’ll have a good sense of what to anticipate in terms of packaging (PDF manuals, progress tracking charts, instructional and exercise follow-along films, audio/video/PDF goodies, and so on). That is, there is a complimentary mix of hard-style and soft-style training. There are many training plans to select from in order to suit the program with your schedule and time available. The progress tracking guidelines are comprehensive and easy to use. This application is just plug-and-play, requiring no planning or guessing. Furthermore, because the entire system is action-oriented, you have no excuse not to succeed.

As previously stated, Primal Stress combines the finest of Sonnon’s previous product releases into a new and enhanced complete physical training system.
There are several peculiarities, as is usual of CST and TACFIT regimens. Some of the video material, in particular, is of poor quality. Don’t get me wrong: the training is excellent, but the overall video quality is mediocre, with background chatter, irritating sound effects during follow-along movies, wind interference, and so on. Look elsewhere if you’re searching for a Hollywood production. But, to be honest, I can’t really consider this a failing grade because anyone who actually utilizes this application will not think twice about those items. They simply don’t matter.
I’ll highlight one characteristic that distinguishes Primal Stress from the majority of Scott’s past programs. All six TACFIT training regimens are included in Primal Stress. In other words, there are six distinct types of intensity workouts. You won’t be employing a single training protocol like most of Sonnon’s previous releases (for example, the 20/108 protocol utilized in TACFIT Commando, TACFIT Warrior, and so on). Primal Stress employs six distinct training protocols, which I believe is a significant advantage since it allows you to train different energy systems while also keeping the exercises fresh. More diversity is always a plus in my eyes, and Primal Stress has enough of it.
But here’s the catch. This is far more than a physical training regimen. This is a true lifestyle transformation method, and it’s been designed in such a manner that transformation is unavoidable if you stick to the program. I know it seems corny, but we should all sit in a circle, hold hands, and discuss our life aspirations. But that’s not at all what this is about. Scott is clearly attempting to accomplish much more than simply change people’s bodies. He aspires to alter people’s lives via empowerment. And that is exactly what you will foster by employing Primal Stress, by putting your heart into a program that has already had so much love put into it. This dude is out to get you!

Simply said, empowerment fosters confidence in oneself, and confidence is the driving factor behind beneficial lifestyle changes.
All of that “transform your life” nonsense aside, this is an incredibly good value for money – by far the best of Scott’s previous product releases (even without the added freebies). He could charge a lot more for this, but I know Scott likes to over-deliver on his promises and make his programs as accessible as possible. So it goes without saying that if you use this application, it will be worth many times what you paid for it – even if you miss out on the introductory discount price.
In conclusion
This is without a doubt the finest bodyweight training program available today, and I’ve tried nearly all of them! So it doesn’t matter who you are. If you’re willing to put in the effort to burn fat, build muscle, and improve your basic conditioning, AND you want a bodyweight training program that can be tailored to your specific needs and circumstances, AND you want to be told exactly what to do every day, then Primal Stress was designed for you. Final Thoughts
Now, before I send you off to check out the software for yourself, I must caution you: don’t go in with your eyes wide open. This is a serious program for serious individuals. There are no pretenders here, and it won’t be easy. In fact, it will push you to the limit of your abilities (and no further if you follow the program). And you must be mentally prepared for it before you begin. A half-hearted effort will not suffice. So don’t pretend I didn’t warn you.
Also, be prepared to do some deep introspection the moment you start going through the program manual and especially the bonus materials. I’d say you’re getting a great deal even if you’re only planning to use this for the physical benefits of training. However, you’ll be missing the whole point of the program. There’s a detailed blueprint for total lifestyle transformation inside this system, and that’s where the true value of Primal Stress lies. Now, all that said, that doesn’t mean that Primal Stress is the right product for everybody (hey, we’re all at different stages, right?), which is why you need to see it for yourself.
