Following on from the famed Birmingham Conservatoire Collection, Soniccouture investigated another historic landmark, the All Saints Church in Tooting, Surrey.
Soniccouture’s All Saints Collection has a one-of-a-kind structure, a massive organ, and the New London Chamber Choir. Will Soniccouture provide another lovely handmade tool? Let the vocalists have their say!
ALL SAINTS CHOIR is a typical church choir consisting of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices (SATB). To begin with, this is not your typical large theatrical chorus with immense dynamics, thunderous roars, and polysyllabic staccato; rather, it is an intimate, lovely, and detailed ensemble choir. However, with up to 12 atonal horror voices in cluster mode, it may range from exquisite beauty to terrible terror. There are also some useful sound design patches that add depth to the collection.
The GUI immediately catches you upon loading and has all the charm and elegance we’ve come to expect from Soniccouture. It is fashionable, uncluttered, sleek, and well-designed. Everything is pretty apparent; there are no hieroglyphs to decode. The stunning photo by Ed Al-Shakarchi is prominently shown in the GUI. When utilizing the middle mic, the main patch is loaded with soprano and alto parts. Four microphone placements may be switched and mixed live. The natural sound of All Saints Church is excellent, and the blending of close, front, center, and far microphones enhances the sound even more. First impressions are of a lovely chorus. As though you were attending a choir concert, you are transported to the heart of the church. This is the All Saints Choir’s degree of intricacy and personality. Incredible!
The vowels A, I, and U are already loaded, while the sounds O, E, and M can be added later. I immediately load them and discover that they are toggled using keys that can be moved below or above the chorus. The complete SATB chorus is fantastic!
