This course follows a standard curriculum for the complete beginner. Students will learn about greetings and introductions, pluralizing, subject pronouns, the informal and formal registers (tú/usted distinction), numbers, articles, telling the time and date, possessive adjectives, etc., while covering basic present tense –ar, –er, and -ir verb conjugations. Using structures such adjectives, regular and irregular verbs such hay, ser, and estar, and tenerstudents will gain skills in describing la familia, Spanish speaking countries, nationalities, geography, as well as the home . Students will practice these vocabulary and grammar topics through exercises paired with the trailer for the film El espíritu de la colmena (Víctor Erice, 1973).
