So there I was, in my cubicle, doing the same job I’d had for the previous five years. It was a typical Friday morning, and I was going about my usual business tasks.
However, I was frightened and my hands were sweating since I was going to do something VERY unusual.
I was going to stroll into my boss’s office and inform her that I was leaving!
My pulse was pounding as I approached her office door and knocked. It would have been much easier if I could have told her I had taken a position at another bank. But how do you tell someone you’re quitting your job to develop a specialty site empire?

Learn About the Power of Long Tail Keywords
Did you realize that long tail keywords account for 70% of all organic traffic from Google?
At first, I didn’t.
At first, I wasted years attempting to rank in Google for terms that were competitive, had a large search traffic, or that I was certain would bring me huge dollars.
On the surface, everything seemed reasonable. I figured if I could get into the vein of those large numbers, I’d be making good money every day.
I was able to change my tactics once I eventually stopped allowing the dollar signs mislead me. I moved my concentration to trying to rank for short phrases that were simple to rank on Google’s first page.
I began to receive a trickle of traffic, then a flood of trickles. These trickles rapidly accumulated to create a tremendous flood of traffic.
In a short period I had enough Google traffic to make me $10,000 a month from Google Adsense alone.
Now fast forward to the present.
I’ve been doing this for years. I’ve developed hundreds of profitable websites. I am aware of one critical fact.
Traffic is not something that happens by chance. You must have a strategy and the capacity to carry it out in a systematic manner.
To expand my small business, I realized I needed to create a method that I and people I hired could use to target these deep tail keywords and get plenty of organic traffic from Google.
I devised a way to accomplish this, and it worked.
The thing that piqued my interest about my ideas was that they could be used to almost ANY form of internet company in order to rank in Google and gain that much sought-after organic traffic.
As a consequence of the organic traffic from Google, I’ve now developed numerous profitable enterprises other than specialty sites. Among these companies are a well-known blog, a SaaS firm, and an eCommerce company.

Businesses I’ve Built Using Google Organic Traffic…
Affiliate websites, blogs, software, and e-commerce are all examples of online businesses.
Affiliate Sites for Specific Markets
As previously said, when I resigned my job in 2011, I was earning $10,000 per month from my little specialized sites. My current affiliate sites continue to generate over $10,000 each month.
The majority of traffic to these sites comes from Google; in one example, Google accounts for 88% of the traffic.
Blogs of Authority
NichePursuits.com is a blog in one of the most challenging categories to rank in Google for. Niche Pursuits receives around 150,000 visits each month, with Google accounting for the majority of traffic. Over the last year, Niche Pursuits has averaged over $20,000 each month.
Software Development Firm
Long Tail Pro was created from the ground up by myself. The traffic I was getting to Niche Pursuits (through Google) and the organic traffic flowing to LongTailPro.com were the key engines driving that business.
LongTailPro.com still gets over 1,000 free Google traffic EVERY SINGLE DAY (not an easy effort in the “keyword research” software area).
I developed a blog on Long Tail Pro, began ranking for several “long tail” keyword research keywords, and many of those visitors became clients.
I won’t go into detail about the company’s earnings, but it was a substantial business…many times what I was making as a banker.
I sold the firm a few years ago for just about $2 million. Thank you, organic Google traffic!
eCommerce Company
In 2014, I established an Amazon FBA business, and my items began to sell on Amazon. I was overjoyed!
However, I did something that many Amazon sellers do not do: I created my own content website (outside of Amazon) to lead visitors to my Amazon listings.
The procedure was straightforward.
1: I would publish articles comparing the “greatest product” in my specific area or reviewing similar items to mine.
2: I wrote dozens (and eventually more than 100) articles aimed at long-tail keywords that I knew would rank well in Google…quickly.
The idea was to locate people who would Google words like “best product…” (or whatever the keyword was) in my niche, find my website towards the top of the Google results, and begin reading my post.
They would see the link to my product on Amazon from here, and a percentage of them would buy it on Amazon.
Consider this.
Every month, thousands of visitors from my own website were sent to my Amazon listings.
And how did this affect my product rankings on Amazon? It helped them rank better on Amazon, which resulted in more sales.
The bottom line is that I was able to develop a big Amazon FBA business by generating free organic traffic from Google to my own website, which I sold for $425,000 in December 2017.
