Grand Master Kwong Wing Lam’s Biography
Sifu Kwong Wing Lam was born in Canton and began studying in Chinese martial arts at the age of eight in Hong Kong.
He began his Tai Chi studies.
Tai Chi, on the other hand, was a terrible choice for someone his age due to its languid motions and emphasis on meditation rather than physical exertion.
He lost interest after approximately six months and stopped.
Master Chiu Chao and his son, Master Chiu Wei, taught him Southern Hung Gar a year later.
Sifu Lam experienced the joy of practicing Kung Fu in this manner.
Sifu Lam, eager to learn more about the arts, spent six years studying Northern Hung Gar with Master Yen Shang Wo.
He trained with the Chius in the mornings and Yen Shang Wo in the evenings as a kid.
This traditional Kung Fu instruction was strictly enforced.
A set’s techniques and movements were taught step by step, with students practicing on their own to master the moves and grasp the principles underlying them.
Unless the learner has mastered the prior lesson, no additional information would be shown.
After finishing the Hung Gar and Shaolin systems, he spent another 10 years studying additional styles with teachers such as Leung Hua Chu and Lum Jow, including Five Animal Fist, Praying Mantis, Ha Say Fu Hung Gar, and Wing Tsun.
Sifu Lam also beat sandbags for Iron Palm training and Chi Kung (Iron Body) for strength.
He also finished Master Yen’s Tai Chi method.
Sun Jian Yun, the daughter of Sun Lu Tang, the inventor of Sun style Tai Chi, taught Sifu Lam Xing Yi, Bagua, and Sun style Tai Chi.
The Five Fists and The Twelve Animals of the Sun style Xing Yi Quan, which are the fundamentals of this internal martial art, are demonstrated here by Grand Master Kwong Wing Lam.
