Teresa Garland, OTR/L, MOT 13 related seminars and productsTeresa Garland, MOT, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist and author who specializes in sensory and modulation disorders. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD in schools, sensory clinics, and hospital settings. Ms. Garland collaborates with other mental health and allied rehab professionals, teachers, and doctors to identify and address underlying sensory, timing, coordination/motor planning deficits, as well as overarching socio/emotional disorders and autistic symptoms. She has received training and certification in the SIPT, Interactive Metronome®, Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), Therapeutic Listening, Wilbarger’s Sensory Defensiveness, Natural Heart Approach, Mindfulness Training, and Food Chaining.
Ms. Garland is the best-selling author of Self-Regulation Interventions and Strategies: Keeping the Body, Mind, and Emotions on Task in Children with Autism, ADHD, or Sensory Disorders (PESI, 2014). Hands-on Activities for Children with Autism & Sensory Disorders, her workbook, was released in April of 2016. (PESI).
Ms. Garland has taught over 10,000 therapists and teachers in the skill of applying self-regulation interventions with the children they work with in clinics and classrooms as an author and international presenter. She also receives training in working with children and people with ADHD, as well as youngsters with autism.
