The wheel of dharma was spun three times by Lord Buddha, with the second turning revealing the true essence of all things, Prajnaparamita, of which Cho is a way to practice and realize.
The great siddhas of India practiced and passed on the teachings of real nature via their various lineages. Machik Lapdron, the highest Tibetan female teacher and saint prophesied by the Buddha as an emanation of the Great Mother Prajnaparamita, received these teachings from numerous siddhas and formed them into Cho, which meaning to cut or punish. Through the knowledge of our actual nature, which is the essence of all the Buddha’s teachings, ego grasping, the source of our suffering, is severed.
This is a thorough commentary on Cho’s practice, including full illustrations of the practice and offerings, as well as the whole sadhana in Tibetan and English.
