Integral Spirituality: Embracing God’s Three Faces
In this conversation with the global integral revolution’s leading voice, we’ll look at one of the most pressing issues confronting all of us who want to live an authentic spiritual life: how can we assure that our spiritual path and practice will lead to a really integral transformation? To achieve a total spiritual awakening, we must accept what Wilber refers to as “the three faces of God.” According to Wilber, God or Spirit may be experienced and engaged from three separate perspectives: first person, second person, and third person. God as Self, as Holy Other, and as Everything However, it is all too easy for us to become caught up in one of these “faces of God” at the cost of the others. Many of us, for example, have experienced intense first-person “enlightenment experiences” that revealed the divine essence of our Self. However, in the absence of the constantly humbling realization of God’s second-person face—God as Other—our first-person spiritual experiences have frequently made us more egotistical, not less so. Join us for a lively examination of the Integral Spirituality path, in which the three aspects of God interact to affect every part of our lives.

COHEN, ANDREW
Transformative Spirituality for the Twenty-First Century: Evolutionary Enlightenment
How does significant development at the level of awareness connect to true cultural transformation? How has enlightenment grown with the rest of us? Andrew Cohen is a spiritual and cultural pioneer who has spent more than two decades exploring the territory of the “new enlightenment.” In this teleseminar, Cohen will clarify how our concept of nondual awakening grows through time as we do, and how its relevance takes on new dimensions and meaning as the conditions of our world become increasingly complicated. Cohen, the founder of Evolutionary Enlightenment, a modern spiritual and philosophical philosophy, has sketched out a thorough framework for the development of our higher human potentials. The waking to a knowledge and actual realization of the evolutionary drive as the animating life-force inside us is central to this teaching. We may become powerful instruments for human development by becoming more conscious of this force and aligning ourselves with it, beginning at the most fundamental level—the level of consciousness itself.
Regarding Andrew Cohen
Andrew Cohen is a well-known spiritual teacher, evolutionary philosopher, and author. He founded and is the editor-in-chief of the award-winning EnlightenNext magazine. Cohen is widely known as a visionary thinker and revolutionary idealist for his unique contribution to the burgeoning area of evolutionary spirituality and for his original spiritual teaching, Evolutionary Enlightenment. Cohen has become a major voice in a worldwide coalition of persons and groups devoted to the development of human consciousness and culture through his presentations, intense retreats, books, and continuous interactions with renowned thinkers, mystics, and activists. Living Enlightenment: A Call for Evolution Beyond Ego, Embracing Heaven and Earth, and Enlightenment Is a Secret are all books by Cohen. His next book, Evolutionary Enlightenment, will be released in the spring of 2010.
HAMILTON, DIANE
Facing the Shadow: A Comprehensive Approach to the Dark Side
The Integral Map directs us on the direction of greater spiritual realization, but warns us that we must learn to work with Shadow aspects of consciousness before they work with us. You might be able to access extended levels of consciousness, yet you still feel stuck when dealing with personal or interpersonal issues. One of the purposes of integral practice is to resolve the gap between personal and transpersonal work, and to provide individuals with the skills they need to deal with the element of the self that needs to be addressed.
We will focus on the aspect of Shadow work in Integral practice, particularly the Integral technique of 3-2-1 Shadow work and integrating projections, in this discourse. We will also distinguish between shadow material, bad emotional patterns, and trauma manifestation. We will go deeper into the problem of managing darkness in relationships and the communal world in order for our spiritual awareness to be fully developed in daily life.

Sustaining an Authentic Practice in a Chaotic World: The Continuous Awakening
In this teleseminar, we’ll look at some of the most common challenges that arise for students on a holistic spiritual journey in a non-traditional setting. The traditions provided mechanisms for producing depth in practice, such as models for student-teacher interactions, stage maps indicating where you were on your journey, and protocols for dissolving ego tendrils. At the same time, a typical trip student may discover that when she awakens to her own particular journey, the traditional maps no longer apply. Integral spirituality must develop genuine methods to assist pupils in navigating the difficult curves of their own awakenings.
Join us as we investigate questions like, “How can we transfer intellectual understanding into genuine all-bodies experience?” How can we distinguish between self-reliance and egoic arrogance? How does one handle the unforeseen emotional and spiritual upheavals that accompany purification? Maintaining an authentic practice is more than just what you do. It’s also about how you handle the curve balls that come your way on any spiritual journey, especially if you’re breaking new territory!
Sally Kempton’s Bio
Sally Kempton was sitting in her Manhattan living room one evening in 1971 when she was overtaken with an overwhelming sense of all-encompassing, unconditional love that appeared to come from nowhere. The emotional event sparked an inner search that led her to meet her Guru, Swami Muktananda, two years later. Sally Durgananda Kempton is now an inner yoga teacher educated in the non-dual traditions of Hindu wisdom. Her seminars and trainings provide a profound transfer of heart-centered spaciousness. She is noted for her ability to communicate esoteric tantric teachings while still being acutely aware of the psychological and practical obstacles of modern living. She is the author of The Heart of Meditation and contributes to Yoga Journal’s popular Wisdom section.
DONALD BECK
Agents of Evolution: Applying Our Deepest Wisdom to Global Transformation
Change occurs. And, in the first decade of the third century, worldwide changes are occurring in a haphazard manner: swiftly in some sectors and slowly in others. Adding to the difficulty is the reality that most change is still governed by the rough, boisterous laws of our stone-age forefathers, ruled by instinctive but dangerously volatile, primitive thoughts and beliefs.
However, a spiritually rooted yearning for sensible, integrative change is rising in many of us today. To improve the world, however, we must first understand how transformation occurs—and be prepared to transform ourselves. Join Dr. Don Beck, a pioneering integral thinker, for an in-depth examination of Spiral Dynamics Integral in this teleseminar. Discover the dynamics of human development using a vertical, developmental, and integrative paradigm. Increase your awareness of how human consciousness grows through clans, cultures, and countries, on the inside and outside, individually and collectively. If illuminating one’s internal culture is the most important step toward creating a new and fully integral culture, then this teleseminar will undoubtedly be a tremendous move toward a better future.
Dr. Don Beck’s Bio
Don Beck has spent more than three decades inventing, implementing, and teaching the evolutionary theory of Spiral Dynamics. Spiral Dynamics is a strong multidimensional model for explaining the evolutionary transition of human values and civilizations that is based on the pioneering work of psychologist Claire Graves. Dr. Beck’s work has led him to places as disparate as 10 Downing Street, inner-city schools on Chicago’s south side, the World Bank’s headquarters, and the boardrooms of major banks, energy firms, airlines, and government agencies throughout the world. His work in South Africa between 1981 and 1988 had a considerable influence on the public, governmental, commercial, and religious leadership, assisting in the peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy. He is the cofounder and CEO of Spiral Dynamics Group, Inc., as well as the coauthor (with Chris Cowan) of the seminal work, Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership, and Change.
ROSHI, GENPO
The Future of Buddhism: Big Mind, Big Heart, and Dharma Evolution
Genpo Roshi is transforming Zen—both now and in the future. He is a traditional Zen Master as well as a modern spiritual innovator, and his unique teaching style, Big Mind, Big Heart, allows even the most inexperienced pupil to receive a direct and possibly life-changing experience of their actual nature. Genpo Roshi will convey the essence of Big Mind, Big Heart in this teleseminar, as well as why it is critical that we create new methods of understanding, teaching, and practicing the eternal spiritual pathways of the East. See for yourself how his own set of tools and procedures successfully combines Western psychology and science with traditional wisdom traditions.
Concerning Genpo Roshi
In 1982, Dennis Genpo Merzel Roshi (born 1944) established the Kanzeon International Sangha. Since 1987, he has served as Abbot of Big Mind Western Zen Center (previously Kanzeon Zen Center) in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was taught the dharma in both the Soto Zen and Rinzai Zen lineages. He is Taizan Maezumi Roshi’s second Dharma Successor, with whom he began his Zen practice in 1972. Roshi Bernard Glassman, Maezumi’s first Dharma Successor, bestowed inka (the final stamp of approval as Zen Master) to him in 1996. In 1999, he developed the Big Mind approach, which has since become key to his teaching. Roshi’s books include The Eye Never Sleeps, Beyond Sanity and Madness, 24/7 Dharma, and The Human Being’s Path. Big Mind/Big Heart: Finding Your Way, his most recent book, was released in the fall of 2007.
GAFNI, MARC
A Spirituality of Distinctiveness: Questioning the Dogma of Oneness
We normally think of enlightenment as a transition from a restricted sense of self, the egoic or personal, to a freed, impersonal or universal sense of self; a transition beyond our feeling of Uniqueness, beyond the simply Personal. Dr. Rabbi Marc Gafni, an integral-evolutionary spiritual teacher, will discuss his latest notion in which the ultimate manifestation of spiritual accomplishment is viewed as the realization of what he, Ken Wilber, and others have named the “Unique Self” in this teleseminar. This profound emerging insight, based in the Kabbalah and other wisdom traditions, according to Gafni, distinguishes between egoic specialness or uniqueness and the experience of radical enlightened uniqueness, which comes only after progression beyond the constriction of ego and separate self. “Egoic uniqueness must be transcended before embracing and completely living enlightened individuality.” Gafni will explain why he believes Unique Self is the most powerful and full manifestation of enlightenment, love, Eros, and joy, and why it will profoundly question – and evolve – our whole view of life purpose, enlightenment, and pretty much everything else.
Dr. Marc Gafni’s Bio
Dr. Marc Gafni is a rabbi and iconlastic Kabbalah and Evolutionary Spirituality instructor. He is a founding member and faculty member of the iEvolve Global Practice Community, as well as the director of the Integral Life Spiritual Center. He has seven books to his credit, including the national bestseller Soul Prints and The Mystery of Love, a Kabbalistic investigation of the link between the sexual, sensual, and holy. Gafni’s teaching is distinguished by a profound transmission of open heart, compassion, and cutting-edge startling wisdom. Gafni’s path of personal evolution, woven with profound reverence and reading of sacred texts, has formed the context for his personal realization. He teaches from a position of broken-hearted humility, extreme joy, and holy daring.

MURPHY, MICHAEL
Integral Transformational Practice and the Whole-Person Evolution
Human change is a multifaceted and challenging process. It’s all too easy to get unduly focused on the growth of one area of ourselves at the price of our greater development in another in our drive to realize our complete human potential. For example, many of us have discovered that, despite years of meditation practice, we remain dysfunctional in our relationships or challenged in our ability to achieve our goals in the world. “How can we bring about an “integral” transformation—one that ensures that we develop all of our human capacities in a balanced and holistic way?” is a burning question for all of us today. We’ll delve headfirst into this subject in this teleseminar with evolutionary pioneer Michael Murphy.
We’ll look at what it means to advance toward our full potential and investigate the transformative effect of Integral Transformative Practice, which Murphy created with George Leonard. We hope you will join us for this exciting start to our series.
Michael Murphy’s Biography
Michael Murphy is the chairman of the Esalen Institute, which he founded in 1962 alongside Richard Price. He is also credited for igniting, together with George Leonard, what became known as the human potential movement. He studied at Sri Aurobindo Ashram in South India after graduating from Stanford University in the mid-1950s, where he built the spiritual and intellectual underpinnings that led to the formation of Esalen. Murphy is the author of a number of nonfiction books that investigate evidence for extraordinary human abilities, including The Future of the Body, The Life We Are Given (co-written with George Leonard), and The Physical and Psychological Effects of Meditation. Golf in the Kingdom, The Kingdom of Shiva’s Irons, Jacob Atabet, and An End to Ordinary History are his other works.
MCINTOSH, STEVE
Integral Worldview and Evolutionary Spirituality
Progressive spirituality has achieved significant societal development in the previous forty years. Through prominent cultural venues such as the Oprah Winfrey program, progressive spiritual leaders such as Eckhart Tolle are increasingly becoming available to a huge general audience. This postmodern form of spirituality has also made inroads into the highest reaches of human knowledge by helping to reconcile the world’s wisdom traditions with scientific discoveries. Despite its accomplishments, progressive spirituality remains essentially counter-cultural. It has yet to generate the tremendous awakening—the seismic Shift—that it has promoted as its most alluring promise. Integral spirituality develops from progressive spirituality, but it claims to be different—a new type of spirituality distinct from New Age viewpoints.
Steve McIntosh will explain the qualities of integral spirituality that set it apart from even the finest of progressive spirituality in this session. He will emphasize features of the integral approach that go beyond the current level of progressive spirituality, while also incorporating it into an energizing new synthesis.
Regarding Steve Mcintosh
Integral Consciousness and the Future of Evolution is written by Steve McIntosh (Paragon House 2007). He founded the Integral Institute think tank and has taught integral philosophy to a wide range of audiences. In 2008, he was asked to join Deepak Chopra’s Evolutionary Leaders group. In addition, he is the CEO of Now & Zen, Inc., an international manufacturing firm that sells “natural lifestyle items,” including his well-known Zen Alarm Clock. Steve has been involved in progressive culture for a long time and has traveled extensively around the world. He has had a number of successful occupations, including working as an executive with the Celestial Seasonings tea company and practicing law with one of the country’s largest companies. He and his wife and two boys live in Boulder, Colorado.
PHIPPS, CARTER
Evolution Changes Everything: How Progress Is Transforming the Spiritual Path
There was a time when there was just birth, life, and death. Then God created Darwin, whose evolutionary theory transformed a static wheel of existence into a vast arc of change, with man, beast, biosphere, and even suns and solar systems caught up in the currents of an evolving universe. This yet shocking revelation calls into question some of our most treasured spiritual ideas, and it is reshaping society and awareness in ways we have only begun to comprehend. Carter Phipps will address the concepts of growth and development, evolution and change as they apply to the spiritual life in this teleseminar. Carter will speak on how evolution proposes a completely new framework for human life, reframing the core purposes of spiritual practice and showing our ultimate potential for improving ourselves and our planet, challenging traditional concepts of enlightenment and the nature of the self.
Carter Phipps Bio

CLAIRE ZAMMIT
Women on the Edge of Evolution: The Sacred Task of Midwifing the Integral Feminine
There’s an impulse being felt by millions of people around the world: the yearning to reclaim the feminine. From ancient prophecies to modern day manifestos, the 21st century is heralded as the time when the integration of both masculine and feminine energies, values, and ways of knowing and being will constellate and give birth to the next stage of our collective human journey. But how will this integration take place? And what’s the significance of our role as women in this process?
According to Claire Zammit, in order for this reintegration of the feminine to catalyze our next evolutionary stage of development, it must be consciously evolved and expressed through women at the integral level of consciousness. This “new feminine” is unlike anything we’ve seen in our history. Women who are living on the edge of evolution, that is, those of us who have the privilege of being freed up from the task of merely surviving and are able to participate in the process of pioneering new structures in consciousness, have a sacred calling to lead the way.
Join Claire Zammit, who has been pioneering a pathway for women’s evolution in her work with thousands of women, to learn how to awaken the integral feminine in yourself and midwife it into our world.

CRAIG HAMILTON
Awakening to the Call of the Cosmos: How to Align Your Life with the Impulse of Evolution
Many of us sense that an extraordinary spiritual transformation is possible—a radical realignment at the deepest levels of our being that would not only liberate us from our personal suffering but would infuse our lives with a sacred, cosmic sense of meaning, purpose and wholeness. Yet, after years of spiritual practice and study, for most of us, this kind of total transformation remains mysteriously out of reach.
Why is it that most spiritual teachings and practices rarely deliver on the promise of authentic spiritual awakening? According to spiritual pioneer Craig Hamilton, the reason for this is that the vast majority of spiritual practices and teachings today are rooted in a worldview that is hundreds if not thousands of years out of date and are inadequate to address the evolutionary needs of modern humanity. Hamilton writes: “most spiritual seekers today have psychological and emotional barriers to transformation that all the meditation and prayer in the world will not remove.”
In this groundbreaking interactive teleseminar, we’ll explore the evolutionary approach to spiritual practice Hamilton calls “Integral Enlightenment” You’ll discover how to reignite your spiritual passion by aligning your life with the evolutionary impulse at the heart of the cosmos. And you’ll learn simple practices to help you remove your hidden barriers to enlightenment and open the door to an unimaginable life of sacred engagement in the great work of our time—the further evolution of life, humanity, and consciousness itself.
