Course Description
The activity will meet the needs of osteopathic doctors, as well as other practicing clinicians, to increase knowledge, competence, and/or performance for the treatment of Systemic Disorders and Physiological Functions using osteopathic principles.
The application of primary respiration to the treatment of fascia. For patients, effective therapy ranges from myofascial release to focusing on a fulcrum. This on-demand webcast will provide participants with the opportunity to learn the fluid basis for how OMT affects physiologic functions, as well as meet the needs of interested physicians who want to increase their knowledge in this area of medical practice, including the assessment of existing and emerging therapies, as they develop customized treatment plans through interactive case scenarios.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to discuss the research that supports the use of evidence-based OMT for: treating fascia with primary respiration.
Prospective Clientele
All osteopathic and medical physicians (DO/MD), dentists (DDS/DMD), medical students (DO/MD), and international osteopaths are welcome to participate in this activity.
Prerequisites
A 40-hour Introduction to Osteopathy in the Cranial Field course has been approved. Please provide proof of completion of an approved OPC, OCA, or SCTF course to [email protected].
Dr. Lee earned his DO in 1976 from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. In 1986, he finished an OMM residency at AT Still University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been a member of an OMM for 43 years. In OMM, he has a private general practice in Durango, CO. Dr. Lee is FAAO and FCA certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Medical Acupuncture. He was a member of The Cranial Academy’s Board of Directors and the American Academy of Osteopathy’s Board of Governors. Cranial Osteopathy Certificate of Competency, Cranial Academy, 6/89. He has served as a faculty member for the Osteopathic Cranial Academy’s Introductory Course, Cranial Base Course, Brain Parenchyma and Nuclei Course, and Next Step Course. He was in charge of the OCA’s Intro and Bensoussan courses. He also directed the Rule of the Artery classes in Glendale, Arizona (2017) and Portland, Oregon (2018). He gives talks to colleagues from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, and Canada. Stillness Press released his book Interface: Mechanisms of Spirit in Osteopathy in 2005, in which he proposed a concept explaining fundamental respiration in the tissues based on both spirit and matter principles. Dr. Lee is an AOA, AAO, and OCA member.
