A lot of adjustments have been made in Volume 2 of this series. First, Mason, the cameraman who was visible in the background and occasionally asked questions, appears to be taking on a more direct role. He has his own microphone, and his connection with Tony is more evident. Based on comments from Volume 1, he has also shifted to a wide-angle camera, and they have shortened them. An hour was perhaps too long. This makes the workouts more compact and concise. They have also included a countdown clock, as seen in other Tony Horton programs like as P90X, Power 90, Power Half Hour, and others. Finally, chapters have been added so that you may skip parts or some of Tony’s chit-chat. Some of these new features will be well received by people, while others will not. “You can satisfy some of the people all of the time and all of the people part of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time,” Abraham Lincoln famously stated. These modifications will fall within that group.
This workout takes just under 40 minutes, including warm-up and cool-down. Because of the new structure, both the warm-up and cool-down appear hurried. It felt like a terrific exercise the first time I did it, but I was left wanting more and contemplating doing half of it again. This video has an interval circuit of 20 exercises that last 30-60 seconds before being repeated. I’m happy I didn’t do a third interval; I was stiffening up within an hour of the workout, and a few hours later I was painful in places I’d forgotten I had. This is now one of my favorite Tony Horton exercises, and if it is an accurate representation of what we can anticipate in Volume 2 of One on One, it will be a tremendous series and an excellent addition to anyone’s workout repertoire (but only if you push play and do the workouts). I recommend viewing it once or twice before beginning; this was the only Tony Horton exercise I didn’t do that for, and the first time through I found myself pushing pause and rewind a few times. If you preview them, it will make the first time through much easier.
Beachbody’s One on One with Tony Horton has been available for a little over a year. When Tony reached 50, he launched a membership service because so many admirers of his earlier programs wanted more exercises with Tony. Each month, for roughly $20, you get a new training DVD. You may subscribe to obtain them all or order the ones that interest you. These exercises are personal, intimate, and genuine. These are advanced workouts for folks who are currently in terrific condition and want to push their fitness to the next level. They are designed for people who have completed Power90, P90X, or other Beachbody or fitness programs.
