Tony Mikla, DPT, CSCS, XPS, is a performance coach and sports physical therapist. Dr. Mikla lectures and educates about sports physical therapy on a national level, and she is involved in research, having published many papers in international publications. He is the founder and CEO of KIME Human Performance Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving people’s lives through movement and physical therapy. He formerly worked as the physical therapy manager at the world-renowned EXOS in Phoenix, AZ, where he worked with some of the world’s greatest athletes.
He is the Sacramento Sports Commission’s medical director and adjunct PT professor at Sacramento State University and Northern Arizona University. Tony was a nominee for the NSCA Sports Medicine Specialist of the Year award in 2015. Tony is a national speaker on movement concepts. He has been published in both peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Sport Physical Therapy and Journal of Sports Medicine) and nationally known magazines (Sports Illustrated and Shape Magazine).
He has worked relentlessly to put movement retraining ideas into practice at the highest levels of competition, including the Olympics in Beijing, London, and Rio. He combines the realms of performance and physical therapy to assist bring the larger goal of Sports Medicine to life at the juvenile, college, active adult, and professional levels.
