G1 Practice Test 2021: Free ON “Drive Test” G1 Practice Test 2021
97% pass on the first try.
Our G1 Practice Test, which includes multiple-choice questions, is designed to help you prepare for the Ontario G1 practice test and learners driver’s test, both of which are necessary before you can obtain your Canadian driver’s license.
This is a free practice. The written G1 driving exam is a required lesson for obtaining your Ontario driver’s license at your local licensing office.
Please keep in mind that this is not the genuine test, and if you pass it, you will not earn your license.
The most popular G1 practice exam on our site. When you turn 16, you can go to a Drive Test site and take a written knowledge test with 40 multiple-choice questions to get your Ontario G1 license. The G1 exam is broken into two sections: 20 questions on traffic signs and 20 questions about road laws. To pass the test, you must properly answer 16 questions in each segment. You must also pass a vision test and pay a $158.25 package price, which includes your knowledge test, eventual G2 driver’s test, and five-year license. It will cost an extra $15.75 to retake the written exam. The Ontario G1 driver’s exam is based on the 2021 Ontario Driver’s Handbook, and test questions will be drawn straight from the book. Ontario has implemented a graduated driver’s license (GDL) scheme that will take about two years to complete. You must retain your G1 license for one year, or eight months if you are enrolled in a driver training program, after passing your written exam at Driving Test before taking your first drive test to qualify for a G2 license. The G1 license allows you to practice driving abilities while being supervised by a fully licensed driver. Our G1 practice exams employ the same scoring methodology as the Drive Test sites around the province, so you won’t be surprised when you go.
Driving Exams/Road Tests
You may be required to complete two types of road tests for the G2 and full G-levels of the Ontario driver’s license. Before obtaining a full license, new drivers must pass both driving examinations. If you match the following criteria, you may be required to take a road test:
Depending on your place of origin and degree of recorded experience, you may be required to take at least one road test if you are a foreign driver.
If you are renewing an expired G1 or G2 license, or a full G license that expired more than a year ago,
If you are 80 years old or older and renewing your license, you may be required to take a driving test.
If you are reactivating a license that was suspended more than three years ago,
No matter what level your road test is, you should arrive 30 minutes early with a car (owned, borrowed, or leased), since one will not be given for you.
The G2 Road Test
The G2 driving exam is intended to assess your fundamental driving abilities. It lasts around 20 minutes and is solely conducted on city streets, with no testing on 400-series freeways. The examiner will ask you to practice fundamental driving techniques such as:
The car is started, stopped, and turned.
obeying traffic signals and stops
Driving in passing lanes and overtaking other cars
Driving past several junctions (with lights and stop signs)
Parking options include forward, reverse, and parallel parking.
Reversing, three-point turns, and U-turns
How long will you have to wait for your G2?
If you are a new driver who is attempting to obtain your G2 license for the first time, you must wait 8 to 12 months after passing the G1 written exam. You just have to wait 8 months instead of the full year if you complete a certified driving school.
What happens if I fail my G2 examination?
If you fail your G2 test, you must wait 10 days before taking it again. If there are no appointments available, this might take longer depending on the time of year.
The G Road Test
The G driving exam covers everything from the G2 exam, but additionally tests you on more advanced driving abilities, mostly highway driving. They last around 30 minutes, and new drivers must have had their G2 for at least 8-12 months before taking the G road test. The following competencies will be examined on the G exam for the first time:
At the right speed, merging into a 400-series highway
Changing lanes and passing other cars
Leaving the roadway
How many errors are permitted on the G and G2 driving tests?
There is no defined amount of errors that can result in passing or failing a G or G2 exam. Minor offenses such as merging too late or failing to signal, for example, may only result in negative points, but a severe error such as speeding in a school zone might result in an automatic fail. However, making too many tiny errors may result in exam failure.
What happens if my G test fails?
If you fail the G road test, you will have to wait around 10 days before taking it again. It is dependent on how quickly you can secure an available time to take the exam, therefore it may take longer depending on the time of year.
