The growing science of the adolescent era will be studied in this invited presentation to demonstrate that the essence of this critical stage of life is really the wellspring of energy throughout the lifespan. Reframing our vision of our adolescence and adult years can help impact how adolescents and adults handle this difficult era of growth. This fresh, scientifically informed viewpoint on this bold and creative phase of our individual and collective life may help both adolescents and adults.
Objectives of Education:
Describe four key features of adolescent life.
Distinguish between impulsivity and hyper-rational reasoning.
List the two primary components of the adolescent brain remodeling process.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*

Dr. Daniel Siegel 40 related lectures and goodsDaniel Siegel, MD, obtained his medical degree from Harvard University and then went on to finish his postgraduate medical studies at UCLA, where he specialized in pediatrics, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. He is presently a clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine, where he also serves on the faculty of the Center for Culture, Brain, and Development and is the co-founder of the Mindful Awareness Research Center. Dr. Siegel has given speeches for the King of Thailand, Pope John Paul II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Google University, the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in London, and TEDx.
