DescriptionDescription:
Erickson frequently viewed the presenting symptom as the patient’s solution to an issue that was not immediately apparent. Erickson was able to design seemingly easy remedies that achieved permanent transformations by understanding the main problem that the patient was attempting to fix with symptoms. This short course is the key component of our Congress presentation that teaches therapists how to examine symptoms in an Ericksonian frame of mind in order to identify brief but long-term treatments.
Objectives of Education:
To explain the distinction between “why” and “what” queries.
To characterize a patient’s issue redefinition via the Erickson lens.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
