DescriptionDescription:
The language used by a therapist to understand and treat an issue impacts whether or not the problem may be effectively handled. Plato’s account of the cave, where the residents only see shadows, is a great metaphor for how therapeutic language may cause either confusion or clarity. The program will explain how to use an invariant beginning question, strategic discussion, and metaphorical strategies to effectively treat serious difficulties in children and adolescents.
Objectives of Education:
Describe how to use behavioral metaphors to analyze child and teen difficulties.
Explain how to ask a carefully worded introductory question that leads to a brief, effective resolution of a child’s or adolescent’s issue or system.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
