Positive Psychology advocates a change in emphasis to what is well with individuals. Mindfulness implies a change in emphasis toward acceptance and being completely present. When suggestion and focus changes are used in treatment, hypnotic patterns are unavoidably involved. How may hypnosis benefit Positive Psychology and Mindful Meditation? We will look at the roles of selective attention and unconscious processes in engaging individuals in experiential learning in this workshop.

 

Objectives of Education:

List and discuss three main components of hypnosis in experiential mindfulness practices.
Describe how suggestion affects the effectiveness of hypnotic therapies.
Describe and demonstrate a hypnosis approach for accessing personal resources in Positive Psychology.
