Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a very successful, energetic, and caring technique. Many clients benefit from REBT sessions, and the advantages remain as long as the clients continue to apply the ideas taught in treatment. Attendees will study the key ideas, tactics, and methodologies of REBT, watch a presentation of the approach, evaluate its efficacy as short treatment, conduct activities, and get their questions addressed.
Objectives of Education:
Explain the essential ideas, strategies, and procedures of REBT, its success as a brief treatment, and the clients who can benefit most from such a brief therapy.
Separate healthy rational thinking from harmful irrational thinking.
Separate good negative emotions from harmful negative ones.

Dr. Debbie Joffe Ellis is a licensed psychologist in Australia and a mental health counselor in New York. She is an adjunct professor at Columbia University TC and a member of several major psychological associations and societies, including the Australian Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association. She holds a doctorate in alternative medicine (MDAM) from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine, which is affiliated with the World Health Organization, and a gold medal (1993) in appreciation of her contributions to alternative and holistic medicine.
