With a constantly connected 24/7 cyberspace that requires and develops fast responses to internet and social networking, many young people struggle with self-regulation and exhibit a lack of selfawareness and modulation. This session presents a customised strategic approach to exploiting the innate creativity and originality that young people have incorporated in their developmental make-up but frequently lack access to leveraging their inner resources. Experiential and particular methods for eliciting response and improving “down regulation” will be investigated.
Objectives of Education:
Use induction designed for this age range.
Use client opposition as a springboard for creativity.

Tobi Goldfus, LCSW-C, BCD, is a therapist, author, teacher, and speaker on a national and international scale. Her book, “From Real Life to Cyberspace and Back Again: Helping Our Young Clients Develop a Strong Inner Selfie,” was published in 2017. She also focuses on the traumatic internet experiences that young people might have, using diagnostic tools, hypnotherapy, and somatic experiencing approaches to help them heal and develop a good balance between their online and offline lives. She contributed to the recently released book “Ericksonian Therapy Now: The Master Class with Jeffrey K. Zeig, Ph.d” (2017). Family and systems therapy, ego state and somatic experience, and intensive Ericksonian hypnotherapy models were among her graduation and post-graduate coursework. She is an ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis) member, an ISH (International Society of Hypnosis) member, a NASW (National Association of Social Workers) member, and a Board Certified Diplomat (BCD). Tobi works as a private practitioner in Germantown, Maryland.
