DescriptionDescription:
The vast majority of patients seeking psychiatric treatment have a history of trauma, turmoil, or neglect. Advances in neuroscience, attachment studies, and information processing demonstrate how experience shapes brain function and how life itself may constantly modify perception and biology. Overwhelming events impact the capacity for selfregulation and memory processing due to alterations in the brain’s subcortical, or “unconscious,” levels. The memory imprints of the trauma(s) are stored in body states and physical action patterns, causing the entire human organism to react to present experiences as if they were a repeat of the past. Affective neuroscience for mindful clinicians; an introduction to the neurobiology of attachment, the nature of the threat response, attention, exploration, and focus, as well as insights from neuro-managing and psychophysiology are all covered in this program.
Objectives of Education:
To explain how trauma alters brain function.
Create a therapy plan for a traumatized client utilizing neuro-management.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
