This workshop will identify common mistakes in working with mixed-agency couples (one leaning out and the other leaning in) and will teach you a protocol for “Discernment Counseling” to help clients make a decision that is fair to all parties involved and increases the likelihood that couples will seek therapy to repair their broken bond.
Objectives of Education:
Identify the most typical mistakes therapists make when working with couples that have opposing desires to stay together vs break up.

He is Professor and Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program in the Department of Family Social Science, College of Education and Human Development, and an adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota.
