DescriptionCC17 Workshop 14 – Stan Tatkin, PsyD, MFT – Exclusive vs. Inclusive In Healthy Male Couples: Differences Between Monogamy, Loosening Boundaries, and Deception
The homosexual male community promotes casual sexual connections as the norm, without evaluating if this is beneficial for a marriage. This course will clarify how male couples successfully select exclusivity, why healthy attachment is vital when considering an open relationship, and present tips for managing open boundaries within a pair. Subcultural norms will be compared to traditional heterosexual relationships, including what defines deceit or affairs and how to turn deception into greater connection.
Objectives of Education:
Encourage more communication and closeness in homosexual male partnerships.
Distinguish between healthy sexual standards and out-of-control sexual conduct in homosexual male partnerships.
Identify rules for whether it is suitable to initiate a connection and provide tips for successful implementation when appropriate.
