DescriptionDescription:
It’s not a nice sight. Despite 100 years of thought and study, available data suggests that the effectiveness of psychotherapy has not increased. What would be beneficial? Not learning a new therapeutic model. No, not another CEU event or going through the stack of research papers on your desk. There is a straightforward, valid, and reliable alternative for increasing treatment efficacy and efficiency that is based on empirically tailoring services to the individual client’s requirements and characteristics. Feedback informed therapy (FIT) was recently designated as an evidence-based approach by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. According to research on the approach conducted at multiple sites across a wide range of clients and presenting complaints, clinicians can improve the outcomes of those cases most at risk of failure by up to 65% without changing their preferred treatment approach or learning any new treatment techniques.
Objectives of Education:
Explain how to track results with a simple and trustworthy metric.
Show how to utilize a simple and reliable alliance measure to monitor and improve the therapeutic alliance.
Describe how to utilize alliance and outcome data to identify cases that are “at risk” of treatment failure and/or service discontinuation.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
