When one or both spouses suffer from PTSD, couples counseling becomes considerably more complicated. This program will use films and lectures to teach how to use Gottman Method Couple Therapy to treat PTSD. The films depict both childhood and military trauma.
Objectives of Education:
List the effects of PTSD on each level of the Sound Relationship House.
Describe three Gottman Method techniques that work when PTSD comes up in a session.
Describe two ways a PTSD patient’s partner can assist them at home when PTSD symptoms develop.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
