Professor Joseph Wolpe, M.D. Seminars and items related to: 36
Joseph Wolpe, MD, was a South African psychiatrist who was a key player in Behavior Therapy. Wolpe was raised in South Africa and attended Parktown Boys’ High School. In 1948, Joseph got his M.D. from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was an Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Temple University Medical School and the former Director of Behavior Therapy Unity. He was a Psychiatry Professor at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He is a renowned practitioner of behavior therapy who has written three books, co-edited two others, and has over 200 professional articles. He was a founding member of the Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry. He is the recipient of the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Scientific Award for Psychology Applications.
