Burns is a Stanford University School of Medicine adjunct professor emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the author of the best-selling books Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy and The Feeling Good Handbook. Burns popularized Aaron T. Beck’s cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with his best-selling book in the 1980s.

Dan Short, PhD Additional lectures and products: 28Dan Short, Ph.D., is well-known globally for his work in Ericksonian hypnosis and short-term treatment. He spends the majority of his time to a private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as writing and lecturing to professional audiences all over the world. He received a Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 1993, followed by a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an internship at an APA recognized program in Houston, Texas.

Sonja Benson, PhD, is a private practice psychologist. She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has worked as a medical psychologist at the VA Medical Center, in employee assistance programs for two Fortune 500 businesses, and in private practice. Sonja is an APA and ASCH member. She co-wrote two hypnotherapy books with George Gafner.

George Gafner, MSW, LCSW, recently retired as director of family therapy and hypnosis training at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona, but he still works there in a gastrointestinal hypnosis study. He has written four prior books on therapeutic hypnosis and 35 academic papers.
