Aside from the neurophysiological distinctions between hypnosis and meditation, we will concentrate on metaphor creation and therapeutic application. Participants will learn a methodical strategy for assisting patients in creating problem-solving metaphors.
Objectives of Education:
Describe the distinctions in neurophysiology between meditation and hypnosis, as well as metaphor perception.

Since 1989, Jorge Abia, MD, has served as co-director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute in Mexico City. Dr. Abia has 25 years of experience as an Ericksonian hypnotherapy clinician, teacher, researcher, and program creator, as well as training in internal medicine, family therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy. He co-wrote a 1,500-page instructional curriculum and wrote a self-hypnosis book.
