Original program date: December 15, 2019Description:
People have holistic, mind-body-brain interactions, as well as an innate proclivity to grow, individuate, and realize their full potential. However, people can become stuck due to their concurrent need for human affiliations. Unresolved loss between the two has an impact on their ability to develop a healthy balance of affiliated-individuation, which is required to navigate the multiple epigenetic developmental tasks from birth to death. As a result, morbid grief affects epigenetic processes, laying the groundwork for the emergence of psychophysiological issues. Unfortunately, the associated biomedical symptoms are usually the focus of treatment, with little recognition that the root of the problem is difficulties negotiating psychosocial epigenetic processes. This occurs because the root of the problem, unresolved loss, is frequently overlooked because it is obscured by morbid grief, a natural sequelae to unresolved loss, and other morbid grief-related secondary outcomes. To address these issues, the themes embedded in their worldview must be untangled. This presentation will go over how to use Ericksonian naturalistic approaches to model the worldview, interpret the embedded themes, analyze the patterns, and intervene appropriately. Case studies will be used to demonstrate the value of Ericksonian approaches when working with people suffering from psychophysiological disorders.
Objectives of Education:
Describe three interconnected epigenetic processes that influence the biophysical well-being of humans.
Describe how the themes in the individual’s worldview can be used to determine the status of his need for affiliated -individuation.
Describe how the individual’s worldview-themes point to the root of the problem.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
