Parkinson’s Disease and Its Mimics
Caroline B. Stevens, D.O., is the presenter.
Participants will be able to do the following by the conclusion of this session:
1) Recognize the most prevalent hyperkinetic and hypokinetic movement disorders.
2) Understand how to do a tremor workup.
3) Acquaint yourself with idiopathic Parkinson’s disease and other Parkinsonian disorders.
4) Recognize and manage the basic motor and non-motor elements of tremor and Parkinson’s disease.
5) Learn how to identify potential Deep Brain Stimulation referrals.
Dr. Stevens graduated from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM) in Athens, OH in 2004. In 2008, she finished her neurology residency at Grandview Hospital & Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy for Parkinson Disease and Essential Tremor, as well as Botox therapy for Spasticity, Dystonia, and Chronic Daily Migraine, are among Dr. Stevens’ specific interests.
