The Evolution of the Primary Stroke Center 10 Years Later52-year-old John arrives at the emergency room complaining of a headache that won’t go away and hazy vision. He’s convinced it’s just another sinus infection. While taking his history, you notice that he is slurring some of his statements and then slumps over. Are you ready for the emergency that is unfolding in front of you? Patients might present with or acquire neurological symptoms at any moment, so healthcare practitioners must be able – and confident – in assessing these changes and intervening accordingly. Stroke victims have a limited therapy window and rely on your skills. Join Cedric McKoy, MSN, ACNP, for an in-depth look at stroke management developments. Every nurse must understand these key ideas in order to give patients and their families with the greatest and most up-to-date care. Cedric is well-known for his ability to simplify complicated subjects and give practical advice and tools that you can apply right now.
