Dr. Siegel is a clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine and the co-founder of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. He is also the Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute, which focuses on the development of mindsight in individuals, families, and communities by teaching insight, empathy, and integration.
Dr. Siegel earned his medical degree from Harvard University and continued his education at UCLA. He worked at UCLA as a National Institute of Mental Health Research Fellow. Dr. Siegel is the founder and editor of the Norton Professional Series on Interpersonal Neurobiology, which includes more than seventy textbooks. He has also written five New York Times best-selling books, including Aware: The Science and Practice of Presence, Mind: A Journey to the Heart of Being Human, Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain, and two with Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D: The Whole-Brain Child and No-Drama Discipline.
