Description
Meet Your Microbiome in 4 Weeks
Do you want to understand more about your unique gut ecology and how to shape it so that you may better harness its enormous health benefits?
Do you want to know more about your own gut ecosystem?
Do you want to know how healthy your microbiota is?
Do you want to learn about new tools and approaches for modifying your microbiome?
If this describes you, Dr. Jason Hawrelak’s Meet Your Microbiome course is for you!
Do you require more detailed interpretation to better understand your uBiome or American Gut Project microbiome results?
Do you know that:
What constitutes a healthy Akkermansia population? What are the possible outcomes of having too little of this organism? And how do you re-establish it if your population is so small?
Which microbial phyla might be causing your depression or anxiety? And what should I consume to change this?
How can you verify whether your bifidobacteria is truly extinct?
Is it true that taking a probiotic pill or eating fermented foods may re-inoculate your gut?
Which species promote metabolic health and aid in the maintenance of good blood sugar management and insulin sensitivity? What foods and supplements may be used to nourish these unique species?
How much Bacteroides should you have?
Which unidentified group of gut bacteria might be causing gut inflammation and leaky gut? And what things may you be eating that promote their growth?
Do you want to learn about new and crucial gut microbiota species (other than Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium spp.) and their involvement in keeping you healthy?
If this describes you, Dr. Jason Hawrelak’s Meet Your Microbiome course is for you!
The gut microbiota is a fascinating field of study. Recent research has linked changes in this environment to a variety of disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as anxiety, depression, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and fatty liver.
Dr. Jason Hawrelak (research scientist, educator, and clinician) will address all of the above issues and more in this 4-week course! See Dr. Hawrelak’s bio for further details.
This course is designed for those who are concerned about their health. If you are a health practitioner, the soon-to-be-released Stool Analysis Masterclass course (which covers these topics in greater depth as well as additional information on the advantages and downsides of other functional stool testing techniques) might be a better option. The Meet Your Microbiome course is divided into four lessons (each is 40-100 minutes in duration; over 4.5 hours of material in total). For four weeks, one lesson is provided each week:
Lesson 1: Is the Microbiota an Important Human Organ?
(77mins)
Part 1 of Lesson 2: Diversity, Phyla Balance, Endotoxins, and Your Gut Guardians (97 mins)
Lesson 3: Part 2 of Gut Guardians – Akkermansia, Faecalibacterium, and Other Butyrate Producers (64 mins)
Lesson 4: Your Microbiota’s Good and Bad (37 mins)
Lessons can be studied at your own speed and leisure. You can begin the first lesson whenever it is convenient for you.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
Learn about your microbiota’s “good, bad, and ugly” individuals.
Understand your uBiome and American Gut Project microbiome data better.
Understand and be able to use supplementary and dietary methods to:
boost the variety of your environment
Restore the health of several of your important gut bacterial species, such as Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium, and Faecalibacterium spp.
Learn which foods to consume to support distinct microbial populations.
Learn what foods to avoid or restrict in your diet to inhibit specific bacterial populations.
Participants will be able to bring in their own unique microbiome profile to be examined, allowing you to learn how healthy your microbiota is!
Microbiome Analysis of Stools
•It is encouraged that you bring your own microbiome assessment to get the most out of this seminar. A report from a lab that uses molecular techniques to examine your microbiome (such as Thryve, the American Gut Project, British Gut, mymicrozoo, or the now-defunct uBiome Gut Explorer) will be ideal.
•Without this stool microbiome evaluation, you will still acquire a lot from this course. When previously taught, the course achieved an outstanding feedback rating from participants who did not have results at the time of the workshop. While having a gut microbiota evaluation reinforces and helps facilitate learning in the workshop, having one prior to enrolling in the course is not required.
