Whom This Is For
- You’re already an established freelance writer or copywriter. By “established” I mean that you’ve been freelancing for at least a year or two and have existing clients.
- You have good writing skills and some solid writing samples. Of course, this is subjective. But we’re looking for people who can already write well. This is a business-building coaching group, not a writing class.
- Your samples do NOT need to be book-length or long-format. And they CAN be copywriting samples.
- You have the time and patience to develop and grow a ghostwriting practice. This is not a get-rich-quick thing. It’s not going to happen overnight. Depending on where you are in your business, landing your first $25,000 book project could take a few months. So if you’re looking for a quick way to generate income for your next mortgage payment, this is not it.
- You’re enthusiastic and have a coachable spirit. In other words, you’re willing to be coached, to get out of your comfort zone, and to try new ideas and approaches to develop a lucrative ghostwriting practice.
- You’re willing to work in a small group. Which means contributing to the conversation, giving occasional feedback to others, etc.
- And of course, if you’ve already ghostwritten some books but you’re nowhere near the $25,000-per-book mark, you definitely qualify.
What You’ll Get?
But are there really that many potential customers out there?
That was my next inquiry. Because there is a lot of copywriting to be done, there are a lot of copywriters. But are there really that many aspiring authors willing to pay this much?
Derek walked me through all of the publishing industry factors influencing the demand for ghostwriters (just as he will for you in the workshop). Factors such as Kindles and other e-readers… advances in printing technology and Amazon… and even America’s and the world’s changing demographics.
I’m not going to bore you with the details, but the short answer is YES. There is a lot of interest.
There are many authors who are aware that they require the services of a ghostwriter and are willing to pay $25,000 or more to finally share their story and ideas.
According to a Jenkins Group survey, 81% of adults in the United States want to write a book. That’s 198 million people… which sounds ridiculous!
Even if you exclude the richest 1% of that group, there are nearly 2 million adults who have both the financial resources and the desire to make this lifelong dream a reality.
This is NOT suitable for everyone! (I Really Mean It.)
First and foremost, let me emphasize that this workshop and coaching opportunity is NOT for everyone.
If you’re looking for a big win quickly, this is NOT the game for you. It will take some time to establish a ghostwriting practice. I’m not going to sit here and tell you it’ll be easy.
Yes, you are serious about charging $25,000 for your first book project. But you’re not going to get that job the next week. Derek will cut years of trial and error from your learning curve, but it will take several months to get there.
That’s not a very enticing proposition in today’s “I want it now!” society. But I’m just telling you the truth.
Also, if you don’t already have a writing business — or at least a freelance business and some decent writing experience — you’ll be at a significant disadvantage.
If that describes you, I respectfully request that you decline this opportunity.
This workshop will teach you how to transition from being a commercial writer to also being a ghostwriter. To land on target, you must be at the proper launching point.
BUT… if you are a seasoned freelance writer, this could be the best investment you ever make in your career!
Ghostwriting is fundamentally different from copywriting.
You may even need to create a separate website just for your ghostwriting services in some cases. And you’ll be doing a completely different type of marketing to attract clients (mostly “attractive inbound marketing,” rather than “knocking on doors.”)
Derek had no idea when he began taking on ghostwriting clients. Many things he had to learn the hard way.
And if his mentor hadn’t taken him under her wing, he’d still be learning by trial and error instead of earning a six-figure salary today!
However, guess what? You don’t have to take the difficult path.
You’ll begin your ghostwriting service armed with Derek’s mentor’s strategies, principles, mindsets, tips, and tricks, as well as those of his fellow ghostwriters, publishers, literary agents, published authors, and his own impressive experience.
That is invaluable.

Who Is This For?
Again, this is NOT an opportunity for everyone. What we’re looking for is as follows:
You’re a seasoned freelance writer or copywriter. By “established,” I mean you’ve been freelancing for at least a year or two and have a steady stream of clients.
You have strong writing skills and writing samples. Of course, this is entirely subjective. However, we are looking for people who are already good writers. This is not a writing class, but rather a business-building coaching group.
Your samples do not have to be book-length or lengthy. And they CAN be examples of copywriting.
You have the time and patience to establish and grow a ghostwriting business. This is not a quick-money scheme. It will not happen overnight. Depending on where you are in your business, it could take a few months to land your first $25,000 book project. If you’re looking for a quick way to make money for your next mortgage payment, this isn’t it.
You’re enthusiastic and willing to learn. In other words, you’re willing to be coached, to step outside of your comfort zone, and to experiment with new ideas and approaches in order to build a profitable ghostwriting business.
You are willing to collaborate in a small group. This includes contributing to the conversation, providing feedback to others on occasion, and so on.
Of course, if you’ve already ghostwritten a few books but aren’t making $25,000 per book, you’re still eligible.
What Will You Get?
Six training sessions are scheduled. Each is available in a variety of formats (video, audio, transcripts and copies of all PowerPoint slides). The program’s six training sessions are all pre-recorded and available to you as soon as you enroll. You can go through them at your leisure and at your own pace because they are not live, scheduled sessions.
Weekly coaching sessions. Starting June 29th and ending July 27th, we’ll have 5 weekly group coaching calls at 3pm Eastern Time on Thursdays. Derek and I will be available to answer your questions and guide you through your particular situation. Every call will be recorded. So, if you miss one or want to rewatch them, you’ll have lifetime access to all of them. If you are unable to attend, you can always submit questions in advance. During the call, we’ll answer your questions live.
Private, one-on-one coaching sessions are available. You will also receive three 60-minute one-on-one coaching sessions with Derek. You can use these private sessions whenever you want over the next 12 months. So, when you get your book project and need Derek’s advice and guidance, he’ll be there to help. (This alone is worth the admission price!)
Online Private Community You’ll have access to a private, closed-door Facebook forum where you can connect with Derek, ask questions, and receive feedback and advice both during and after the program. Derek is an active member of the forum, and you will have LIFETIME access to this private resource for advice and guidance. (Once again, this is invaluable!)
Review of Personalized Web Copy Finally, after you draft your ghostwriting services copy for your website, Derek will conduct a thorough copy review and make suggestions for improvement.
You will also have LIFETIME ACCESS to all recordings, handouts, and supplementary materials. So there’s no need to be concerned about missing anything. You can also return to the material at any time to study Derek’s strategies in depth!
